A new badge programme developed to celebrate our students as they gain a deeper understanding of art
At art-K, we’re dedicated to providing a safe, supportive environment where students are nurtured in their artistic skills and learn to cultivate a lifelong love of art. To support this mission, we’re proud to launch the art-K Badge Programme: For the Love of Art. It is a thoughtfully designed system aimed at encouraging our artists to personally explore, reflect, learn, and grow both inside and outside the studio.
Through a series of unique challenges and hands-on projects, students will have the chance to earn badges that recognise their creativity, technique, and leadership. Whether they’re experimenting with new materials, learning about famous artists, or refining their techniques, this programme encourages a deeper appreciation for art, making each badge a true symbol of growth.
Earning Your Badges
For the Love of Art is available to all our 6-18 year old students, offering an exciting opportunity for children to take their art to the next level. Participation is optional, but those who opt in will find themselves on a path filled with creative challenges. Students can earn badges for a variety of achievements, including visiting museums, talking about their art projects in class, supporting the studio’s collaborative environment, and more.To further enhance their learning, we’ve created a worksheet for each badge, which children complete by answering questions and, in some cases, presenting their learnings to the class before earning their badge.
Our structured yet flexible programme allows children to progress at their own pace, earning a new badge each term by completing a range of activities tailored to their skill level. The programme is ever-growing and there will be new badges released regularly. There’s always a new challenge waiting!
The Badge Groups: A Journey in Artistic Growth
Our programme has been divided into three stages—Lavenders, Terra Cottas, and Sages—each tailored to meet children at different points in their creative development. From early exploration to advanced mastery, our badges will inspire growth in every young artist. Let’s take a closer look at what each stage offers.
The Lavenders can earn badges for achievements within each of the following categories: Beyond the Studio, Technique, Role Model, and Celebrated Artist.
The Lavenders are at the beginning of their creative path, exploring new ideas and discovering the joy of self-expression through art. This group focuses on building a strong foundation of skills while fostering a love for artistic discovery. Lavenders are encouraged to try new mediums and techniques, allowing their imaginations to bloom.
The Terra Cottas can earn badges for achievements within each of the following categories: Beyond the Studio, Technical Champion, Inspirer, and Art History Advocate.
The Terra Cottas are steadily refining their artistic abilities, blending creativity with technique. As they continue to explore their unique styles, they take on more complex projects and develop a deeper understanding of art. Terra Cottas are encouraged to experiment and build confidence in expressing their ideas through different mediums.
The Sages can earn badges for achievements within each of the following categories: Beyond the Studio, Technical Master, Leader, and Art History Enthusiast.
The Sages have progressed further on their artistic journey, showing a mature understanding of technique and creative expression. With a more developed skill set, they work on mastering advanced concepts and are encouraged to challenge themselves with new artistic projects. Sages are leaders in the studio, setting examples for others with their thoughtful approach to art.
Membership Badge
For the Love of Art is an opt-in programme, giving children the choice to participate. However, every child will still receive a Membership badge each year as a symbol of their membership to the art-K studio and community.
The Bug Badge Collection
