Become a Franchisee

art-K is a new and exciting Art Club Franchise. art-K is where children aged 6-16 grow into amazing young artists brimming with self confidence. This proven business model can give you financial independence whilst having the flexibility to work the hours you want.

As the arts are being squeezed out of school, research has noted the demand for art clubs has increased dramatically. 76% of children are looking to take part in arts-related activities outside of school- art-K is perfectly positioned to meet that demand! It’s therefore unsurprising that the spaces at our main art-K hub are so highly sort after; we are 30% oversubscribed.

art-K are looking for ambitious and creative individuals who love working with children to join our franchise today.

The art-K Business Opportunity:

As a franchisee you would be setting up your own art-K Club. You will be provided with projects and programmes to enable you to run classes for children aged 6- 16.

As we recognise that everyone is individual, each territory is tailored to your requirements. For example, a medium size art club might run 7 sessions a week, providing a net income of around £42K. Your income will just keep rising as the number of sessions builds.

art-K has been running since 2000. Our unique age-related program means that children stay up to 16 years old. The average time they spend at art-K is 4 years, typically resulting in a revenue of £1900 per child.

art-K’s own art assistants and parents are amongst the first applicants to become franchisees; a ringing endorsement from people who know us best. As your customer base grows your salary will also increase, quickly outstripping a salaried art teaching post.

We are continuing to grow with branches open in Surrey, London, Bristol, Northwood, Tring, Ironbridge and West Sussex; we welcome enquiries from all areas. You may have questions now, but visiting us will answer the most important one: will this art club work? The answer is a resounding yes- it does work and it can work for you.

All franchisees will receive full ongoing advice and support from our management team. We are there to reassure Franchisees from the very beginning, from ‘Where do I set up art-K’ to ‘How do I get clients’; we deliver the structure, freeing you to do the art. Having previously studied art at Chelsea College of Arts, I was really impressed by the high standard and variety of art-K's artwork, which enticed me to find out more about the franchise model. Kathryn is an extremely talented and inspiring art teacher and she has been instrumental in giving me the training and confidence to learn the projects provided in the Art-K manual. Emily, the Franchise Manager, is a very professional and astute business woman who oversees all the business formalities. Kathryn and Emily have been extremely helpful and supportive in starting up the business whilst assisting me in finding and negotiating terms on our commercial premises, marketing, advertising and completion of all financial and legal documents. Having a future career doing exactly what I love is only something others can dream about, so I want to share how ecstatic I am to have found such an amazing Franchise business model, which has changed my outlook on life.

I have always been interested in art whether it’s sewing, drawing or cooking. I am currently a teaching assistant in a primary school where I love seeing the children develop over the course of the year. When attending the franchise show it was an unexpected surprise to come across art-K and immediately it felt right. After visiting them at their main hub, I knew it was what I wanted to pursue; it will give me independence whilst doing something that gives me joy.

I am an artist who’s looking for a new direction and inspiration in my career. When I visited art-K, I was very impressed by how thoroughly the children enjoyed the projects. Many children had been attending a long time and their creative work was of a standard that revealed dedication and a love of art. I look forward to my training with Kathryn, who is a very engaging teacher, and starting my own business.

I have worked at art-K as an art assistant for the last 6 months and I couldn’t wait to start my own club when the opportunity arose. Having always loved art, I’m incredibly excited about being able to share my passion with the next generation of artists. The whole team so far have really helped with the setting up process and they’ve been able to answer all my questions from their years of experience in the industry. Incredibly, I have already had enquiries to join the club before it’s even opened!

My daughter attends art-K in Ashtead, so I have had first-hand experience of what incredible artwork art-K produces. The different materials and media that the children get to experiment with is something I never had at school. I’ve been looking for a change in direction at work and art-K will give me the opportunity to spend time with my kids whilst being in control of my own business. The support I’ve received so far has been invaluable and I can’t wait for what the future holds.

Meet the Directors

Kathryn Harper

Kathryn started art-K in 2000 due to being frustrated that children weren’t having enough art at school. With Kathryn’s speech and language degree she is able to create projects at the appropriate developmental level for each age of child. Now the club is running with 140 children, Kathryn is excited to take it to the next level with Franchising.

Emily Harper

Emily started art-K when she was 6 years old and became an assistant at 16, before returning after University to start the Franchise. Franchising art-K is something that has been on Emily’s mind for the last few years and now she has the time and resources to put all her energy into it.

David Harper

As CEO of iSat Ltd., David will be providing his expertise of running a company to art-K. David supports Kathryn and Emily as a Non-Executive Director, providing advice where needed.
