☀️Summer Term is starting today here at art-K!☀️ Marking a new season for us here in the studios. We are looking forward to what the new term brings… Especially after the excitement of the Easter workshops over the last few weeks. Here are some photos of the children in action and using watercolours, it is great to see them explore so many different colours! 🎨 In our weekly classes this term the children will be using watercolours in a range of ways, with project ranging from animal zentangles, magic 3d watercolour paintings and cat and dog watercolour mirrors. We are still over the moon about the relaunch of art-K online! The last year has highlighted the importance of accessibility for all of us, and has shifted the way we can interact with learning. We have been busy thinking about how we could put the essence of our classes into a digital format, making our teaching available to children who maybe cannot make it to our studio classes. So now your children can make their very own art-K masterpieces from home! With pre-recorded art tutorials developed by our lovely art teachers, accessible from anywhere in the UK and perfect for keeping you and your little ones busy at home at a time that suits you! So many exciting possibilities of what to make! 💫 Here is one of the beautiful pieces made for our online tutorials 🌊The first month of our relaunch (March) was centred completely on watercolours and inks. And we have included some work done in our classes to give you a taste of the kind of magic which can be made…. As well as keeping imaginations alive the workshops also teach important techniques such as blending, perspective and negative space. Skills which are important to a child’s creative perception and development.

We are having an amazing time running our Easter Holiday Workshops!! ✨✨ Despite the confusing appearance of snow this week we have felt spring blossoming in our studios. Here is a glimpse of what our students have been up to in our Greenwich studio! Each workshop project takes 2-4 hours to complete, and every student will take home a finished masterpiece at the end! With both Easter and non-Easter projects on offer, there’s something for everyone and a great chance to try something new! 🎆We are completely over the moon to announce that art-K will receive funding from second round of the Government’s Culture Recovery Fund !!! 🎆
art-K is among more than 2,700 recipients to benefit from the latest round of awards from the Culture Recovery Fund! The pandemic has only further highlighted the importance of art access and creativity for mental wellbeing and we are so excited to receive support from Arts Council to continue and expand our work. We will be using it to hire teaching and central staff, improve the environment of the studios by improving the air flow and to run further outreach events. Ultimately, long term this will enable us to continue opening new studios and increase access to artistic education! Returning to the studios has already been so exciting but this has pushed open so many new and exciting possibilities for art-K which we are looking forward to sharing with you all.
We can’t wait for what comes in the next few months !!! 🎨🌟

Happy Monday! We're excited for a week of sunshine, our final classes of Spring Term, and starting our holiday workshops! 🌞 🐇 🐣 It's only been 3 weeks since we re-opened our studios, but our students have been making amazing work already! Our studio workshops begin next week! But if you can't make it to the studio, we have good news for you: we're running *Zoom* workshops for children aged 6-16 over Easter too! Like our studio workshops, these are one-off, daytime classes where you'll create an artwork within a single session. Our Zoom workshops are taught live, with small class sizes to make the lessons interactive and engaging. We have both clay and drawing/painting workshops on offer this Easter!
