Picasso has many different artistic styles. He was most famous for his paintings but the world also love his drawings!
He has a very freestyle drawing style. Often his drawings are just one line – he would never take his pen off the paper. He also had quite a scribbly drawing style. 🖍
Light Drawing is a technique used with a camera that has settings to adjust what we call “long exposure.” 📷
What is Long Exposure?
When you take a photo on a camera, to take the photo, the camera blinks like your eye. When it blinks it takes the photo in good quality. On older cameras, you can keep the camera “eye” open for a long time, for example, 30 seconds! 🌟
When it is open for 30 seconds, it captures everything. So if you are in a dark room, and you wave a light in the air, the 30 second open camera eyes will remember the movement and when it “blinks” you have captured the drawing with the light. Look at the photos below to see how it looks! 💡

Your Go
Why not have a go at drawing a portrait in the style of Picasso? You could look at a photo of a person and instead of drawing realistically, try to break up the different elements into different shapes. So eyes could become rectangles and the ears could be triangles! 🎨
