What Research Says About Art & Happiness
Research consistently links artistic activities with better well-being, happiness, and emotional health.

- Lower mental distress,
- Higher life satisfaction
- Improved mental functioning.

During another nationwide survey of 7,000 people, you’ll see a pattern:
- Of the 7,000 participants, 37% had taken part in arts or crafts during the previous year.
- Those who participated in creative activities reported consistently higher levels of happiness than those who didn’t.
Researchers suggested that creative hobbies could play an important role in improving public health.

There’s a trend in young people too! In a school-based study involving children aged 7-10, students who participated in creative activities experienced:
- Greater happiness
- Increased optimism
- Better emotional expression
This was qualitative data, by which students expressed a positive boost to their mood following an art session. Above all, creativity helped the children to process feelings and feel more confident in themselves.
