Many Teachers Feel Underequipped to Teach Art—We’re Here to Help
Research art-K commissioned through YouGov in primary schools revealed:
Less than half (44%) of teachers feel they have access to the right resources and training to successfully teach art.
43% reported that their teacher training did not give them sufficient confidence to deliver art and design lessons.
→ That’s exactly who we designed this programme for.
Our lessons are fully templated, with warm-ups, demonstrations and visual examples built in—making them ideal for teachers with no formal background in art. You don’t need to be an artist to deliver creative, engaging lessons.
This programme has been designed by specialist art teachers with years of classroom experience. That expertise ensures that lessons aren’t just creative, but also pedagogically sound and aligned with how children learn best.
The State of Art Education in Primary Schools
77% of teachers have witnessed a worsening in pupils’ ability to perform precise movements such as holding a pencil, drawing, writing, or using scissors, since early 2020.
A staggering 76% of teachers agreed that quality Art and Design education is not prioritised in schools.
1 in 5 (18%) of teachers shared that they spend no time teaching art in an average week.

Our Response: A Practical, Ready-to-Use Art Programme
In response to this growing need, we’ve created a new school programme focused on developing both core artistic skills—appropriate to the student’s age—and imaginative abilities that support cognitive development.
Our programme is built on a clear structure that teachers can rely on. The strength lies not just in the individual lessons, but in the overall framework that develops children’s skills progressively year by year.
Everything is prepared for you.
No extra planning. No artistic background needed. Each session is clearly laid out, with step-by-step guidance so any teacher can lead it with confidence and ease.
Built for the Way Children Learn Best
Art is a visual language. To help children learn and create with confidence, they need to be taught visually too. This programme uses movement, storytelling, visual games and collaborative projects to make learning both enjoyable and effective.
We’ve designed each lesson so that fun and learning happen hand-in-hand, making it easy for teachers to deliver meaningful art education with minimal prep time.
Key Learning Aims
To develop a visual dictionary in their mind of colour, line, shapes and patterns.
To develop an understanding of colour: primary, secondary, complementary, warm/cool, emotional associations.
To be inspired by different artists and how they use core concepts and techniques. To understand everyone sees things differently and each artist has a unique voice.
To build confidence using different techniques to visually express thoughts and ideas.
What the Programme Offers Teachers
This programme provides lesson plans, so teachers can enjoy inputting these plans into the classroom without needing to research and create their own programme.
You don’t need to be a confident artist to teach it—each lesson is clearly structured, with visual guides and examples to support you every step of the way.
It allows for subtle personalisations, which require little additional planning, providing insights into each student’s strengths and weaknesses which can be applied cross-discipline. It promotes individuality and curiosity in creative learning.
Alongside lesson plans, teachers will also have access to a bank of visual examples directly from the programme, which can be shown to students or used for reference in the classroom.
Need more guidance?
For teachers who would like further confidence and support, we also offer optional online mentoring workshops. These provide live demonstrations, practical advice, and the chance to ask questions directly to our specialist art teachers. They can be added alongside the main programme.
Accessible for All Classrooms
This programme provides full lesson plans that can be adapted to suit different classroom needs and timetables. It allows for personal touches without requiring extra preparation, and offers insights into students’ strengths that can support other subjects too.
Supporting SEN schools:
If you teach in a SEN setting, please mention this when enquiring—we’ll be in touch to explore how we can tailor the programme to better suit your students’ needs.
Teaching Methodology
Some themes will require teachers to draw basic line-based drawings at the front of the class in a group-learning approach called parallel drawing. This methodology encourages confidence in line-form and in making mistakes—understanding why and how to turn mistakes into opportunities.
No need to draw perfectly.
We provide the examples and step-by-step visuals—you just follow along with your class.
IMAGINE is also introduced as a concept to inspire and cultivate imagination.
Lesson Structure
Each lesson includes:
A short, engaging warm-up to activate focus and creativity
A main activity focused on a specific theme or skill
Built-in flexibility to adapt based on your classroom’s schedule and needs
Depending on your class timings, you can delve in depth into each theme. The warm-ups are stimulating cognitive exercises which can be used as mental breaks outside of the designated art time; the more these exercises are completed the more impact they will have. Repetition is key.
Pricing & Access
The full programme is priced at £100 per year group. This fee provides a one-year licence per year group, with annual renewal required to maintain access.
